It still makes me cry that we were unable to make it. This made me feel like I was there and able to enjoy seeing you both light up with each other. As always, so proud of the beautiful woman you became. Xoxo, Amiee

Aunt Amiee!!!! It's the most beautiful surprise seeing you here. I know I've said it already, but there was so much love surrounding us that day, that I really felt like you were there with us. I love and cherish you!!

Thank you!!!!! I miss these moments already!!! ❤️ I’d been feeling so insanely homesick for my close friends because I hadn’t seen most of them in person for over a year. So this made the week even more crazy special! 🥹

Thank you for this kindness!!!! I love how convertible the dress was, so it sold me right away. I'm trying to decide if I should dye the skirt so that I can wear it for other special occasions. And the top--I can wear that again in so many different ways too!

P.S. Why is every town hall in France so gorgeous?? That fireplace alone!!!

We were married at City Hall in NYC and while all I cared about was actually getting freaking married🤣🤣 the room was soooooo ugly!!

Thank you!!!!

And I KNOW. I was wondering the same thing! The town hall in Toulouse is a grand ballroom full of mirrors, murals everywhere, and chandeliers. So ornate. The Hendaye one was absolutely perfect too. I loved all of the carved wood, the views over the town center, and how it was filled with plants!

This is so beautiful! I read every word. I'm getting married next year and my partner and I are currently figuring out what feels like "us" and what definitely doesn't when it comes to our wedding. I love that you made yours your own - and in the Basque country too, beautiful! Nowhere does food like it.

Félicitations in advance!!!! I hope the planning isn't driving you mad. I think you're smart to have the conversation of what feels like *you* early on! Having our criteria helped us block out a lot of external opinions about what was expected of us. We were really firm about having a non-wedding-y feeling wedding and, I think thanks to that, even the super traditional parts felt very light and pleasant!

Also, thank you for reading so many words!!

What an amazing story and such beautiful pictures! I cycled the basque coast 2 years ago and absolutely fell in love with the area too, st Jean de Luz was definitely one of the places that stole my heart. I will be returning to the area in September, but this time to see the Spanish side. However I feel like I do need to go to the auberge because it seems heaven! Thanks for sharing this wonderful experience.

Thank you for taking the time to read it! I am SO happy to learn that you've visited before. Saint-Jean-de-Luz is where we are trying to live--it's the definition of magic! Glad you are going back to see the Spanish side in a few months. Yes, please visit Biriatou and eat at Hiribarren (or even stay there if you can)!!! It's on the Spanish border so you won't be far. :)

Teresa! Thank you for reading all of it and for your nice words!! We're both super sentimental people so it was important to sneak in as many little personal touches as possible! Glad it came through that way. :)

Congratulations!! Such a beautiful and special ceremony and celebration. The photographs are beautiful. Every detail was stunning and so sentimentally thought through. I too collect vintage postcards... and wow, your findings were perfect for your special day. And the image of Coco Channel in front of the same church...so good! And lastly, I also loved seeing glimpses of your beloved Saab. It is my all time favorite car and was also my very first car back in 1994. So seeing that was a little nostalgic. :) Thank you for sharing with us your special day. xo

Thank you!! This is so, so, so kind!

I can't believe the Chanel connection either! It's such a humble, non-pretentious place, and seeing that photo surprised us! She had good taste. :)

And about the Saab--no way!!! I love hearing that it was your first car. It was both of our favorite cars, so we searched and searched for one and found ours ('88 turbo) last summer. It's taken us everywhere and we absolutely love it. Although, the clutch did give out about 98% of the way the moment we arrived in the Basque Country. Luckily Jb works wonders with that thing and he got it back in order in time to get married!
