The day has come and gone, our wedding!!! Our hope was to feel like we were singing, dancing, shouting, hugging, kissing, and eating the best meal with a small group of friends and family members who have watched us grow up as individuals and together as a couple. It was all of that and more—somehow!!!
It still makes me cry that we were unable to make it. This made me feel like I was there and able to enjoy seeing you both light up with each other. As always, so proud of the beautiful woman you became. Xoxo, Amiee

What an enchanting wedding. Absolutely everything feels full of love and individuality and so wonderfully stylish as well. Just beautiful. And love the dedication to simplicity and meaning instead of mad expense. Congratulations. I’m just back in Australia after my annual six week trip to Paris with my husband where we walk and talk and eat and make up each day as we go. 33 years ago I got married in a very dark navy velvet jumpsuit lined in cream silk. We did our wedding our way and our life together too. I hope you’re as happy as us in 33 years and somehow feel you will be.

I love that you made yours your own - and in the Basque country too, beautiful! Nowhere does food like it.

Having our criteria helped us block out a lot of external opinions about what was expected of us. We were really firm about having a non-wedding-y feeling wedding and, I think thanks to that, even the super traditional parts felt very light and pleasant!

I cycled the basque coast 2 years ago and absolutely fell in love with the area too, st Jean de Luz was definitely one of the places that stole my heart. I will be returning to the area in September, but this time to see the Spanish side. However I feel like I do need to go to the auberge because it seems heaven! And about the Saab--no way!!! I love hearing that it was your first car. It was both of our favorite cars, so we searched and searched for one and found ours ('88 turbo) last summer. It's taken us everywhere and we absolutely love it. Although, the clutch did give out about 98% of the way the moment we arrived in the Basque Country. Luckily Jb works wonders with that thing and he got it back in order in time to get married!
