Oh, such beauty, such elegance.

I want to move into those rooms.

Wearing the clothes you've featured.

Sitting calmly, alone.

Reading the Gertrude Stein poem,

And deep in thought.

merci mille fois Kelsey Rose

Donkeys are my favorite animals and that door knob has me spiraling. 😂😂😂

That's a great favorite animal!! I can't describe how fast I ran over to that doorknob!

Having a coke with you!! One of my all-times favourites! I was first captured by the seamless weaving of art into poetry as a baby art historian (and I still remember my first visit to the Frick, standing in front of the Polish Rider and thinking about O'Hara's poem!) - and now it holds even more meaning with my connection to the Basque country as you captured x Also Cawley Studio - ugh, so perfect.

Omg it's crazy that I never learned about Frank O'Hara in my art history program!! It seems like he was a vital part of the modernist crew. So happy to have him in my life now, and even happier hearing about your memories related to his poems! ❤️❤️

Love this Kelsey! I love Cawley & Maria Stanley. I'm wearing a MS cardigan right now, hahah.

Have you ever seen the video of Frank O'Hara reciting that poem? It's a favorite of mine too. It's beautiful. <3

Ooh I’ve yet to buy anything from Maria, but I really want the first carigan that I included, but the version with the buttons. We’ll see if I end up with one. ☺️

On my way immediately to watch the Frank O’Hara video! Thanks for letting me know!!

love frank o'hara, thanks for the reminder :) having just visited san sebastian this past christmas (and having read that poem countless times over the years), i'm realizing for the first time that those are the train stops in order! one of my other favorites by his is here: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazine/browse?volume=90&issue=2&page=25

I hope you absolutely loved San Sebastián! Yes totally, it's the train heading north! Although he skipped Saint-Jean-de-Luz, which is my stop!

Thank you so much for sharing that link to the Frank O'Hara poems! I don't normally gravitate to poetry, but I think he's quickly changing that for me. I also love that the Poetry Foundation site has a daily poem, and today's poem is by Gertrude Stein!

[The house was just twinkling in the moon light]

BY GERTRUDE STEIN

The house was just twinkling in the moon light,

And inside it twinkling with delight,

Is my baby bright.

Twinkling with delight in the house twinkling

with the moonlight,

Bless my baby bless my baby bright,

Bless my baby twinkling with delight,

In the house twinkling in the moon light,

Her hubby dear loves to cheer when he thinks

and he always thinks when he knows and he always

knows that his blessed baby wifey is all here and he

is all hers, and sticks to her like burrs, blessed baby
